The T125 was introduced by Lotus in 2011 as a project to offer a close Formula 1 experience to private customers. These cars have a 3.5L V8 Cosworth engine and a 6-speed sequential Xtrac transmission. With power sent to the rear wheels, the car weighed only 560 kg, which combined with its power gave it an extreme power-to-weight ratio, similar to the F1 cars of its time. Additionally, it had carbon-ceramic brakes and advanced aerodynamics to generate significant downforce. Due to its high cost and low demand, the Lotus T125 program was canceled in 2013. Only 25 units were built.
