Over the course of production, two evolutions of the 190D were were built, the 190D (1958-1959) and the 190Db (1959-1961). The differences between the two evolutions is minor, with mostly cosmetic changes, including a wider grill, larger Mercedes stars on the hubcaps, and larger rear taillights. The 190D was powered by Mercedes' OM621 engine, which was a 1.9L inline four that generated 50hp. This engine was paired to a four speed column-shift manual transmission that sent drive to the rear wheels.
