The Mercedes-Benz 190 Db was the evolution of the diesel powered variant of the W121 that was introduced in 1960. The 190Db was only built from the factory in a four door sedan body style, but coachbuilt station wagons by Binz & Co. were sold through Mercedes dealers. The differences with the 190D are minor, with mostly cosmetic changes including a wider grill, larger Mercedes stars on the hubcaps, and larger rear taillights. The 190Db was powered by Mercedes' OM621 engine, which was a 1.9L diesel inline four that generated 50hp. This engine was paired to a four speed column-shift manual transmission that sent drive to the rear wheels. Production of the W121 Mercedes-Benz 190Db ended in 1961, with a total of 61,309 examples built.
