Introduced exclusively for the Japanese market for the 1997 model year, the Mercedes-Benz E400 was a variant of the W210 E-Class Sedan. The E 400 was fitted with Mercedes' M119.985 powerplant, which was a 4.2L V8 engine that had an output of 279hp and 295 lb ft of torque. This output was sent to the rear wheels via a 5 speed automatic transmission. The model series ended production in 1998.
