Mercedes-Benz introduced their second generation of E-Class in 1996. Known as the W210, this new generation of cars was only available as a W210 Sedan or S210 Wagon, as E-Class based convertibles and coupes had been spun off into the CLK-Class. The W210 generation of E-Class established a new quad headlight design theme that was impemented throughout the Mercedes-Benz range. The W210 was replaced by the Mercedes-Benz W211 starting in 2003.
