These cars were initially powered by Mercedes' M273 E55 engine, which was 382hp 5.5L V8. From the 2012 model year, Mercedes used their M278 DE46 engine, which was a 402hp twin-turbocharged 4.7L V8. Both engines were paired to a 7 speed automatic transmission that sent drive to all four wheels. Production of the W212 Mercedes-Benz E550 4MATIC ended in 2016.
