The Mercedes-Benz E550 was a variant of the W212 Sedan that debuted for the 2010 model year. The E 550 sedan, which was sold under the E500 name outside of North America, was initially powered by Mercedes' M273 E55 engine, which was 382hp 5.5L V8. From the 2012 model year, Mercedes used their M278 DE46 engine, which was a 402hp twin-turbocharged 4.7L V8. Both engines were paired to a 7 speed automatic transmission that sent drive to the rear wheels. An all wheel drive version of the E550 known as the W212 Mercedes-Benz E550 4MATIC was also offered. Production of the W212 Mercedes-Benz E550 ended in 2016.
