Mercury Cougar - 6th Gen (1983 to 1988)

The sixth generation Mercury Cougar was introduced for the 1983 model year, seeing the model offered exclusively as a two door coupe, although 25 examples were sent to Kar Kraft to convert them to convertibles. The sixth generation Cougar saw the model repackaged as a luxury sports coupe offered with a 2.3L inline four, a 3.8L V6, or a 4.9L V8 engine. Production of the sixth generation Cougar continued until 1988, when Mercury introduced the Seventh Generation Cougar.
