Mercury Eight - 1st Gen (1939 to 1940)

The first generation Mercury Eight was introduced for the 1939 model year. The Eight was the first Mercury model available, with the Mercury brand created to sit between Ford and Lincoln as a mid-range offering. The first generation Eight was offered in a range of two or four door body styles, including convertible, coupe, and sedan. All first generation Eight cars were fitted with a 3.9L V8 engine, and were in production until 1940, when they were replaced by the Second Generation Mercury Eight.
