Messerschmitt KR200 (1955 to 1964)

In 1955, Messerschmitt introduced the KR200, which was their second evolution of the Kabinenroller. While the basic shape of car remained the same, the front wheelwells received cutouts, and the canopy benefitted from a new design. Underneath the bodywork, KR200 benefitted from a raft of upgrades. New suspension, shocks, and engine mounts were just some of the improvements, with the most notable being the larger 191cc single cylinder engine. The KR200 was built in three distinct body styles: Bubble-Top, Convertible, and Roadster. Although Messerschmitt ended automotive production and sold the rights to the Kabinenroller to FMR in 1956, the model continued to be sold under the Messerschmitt brand, although being built by FMR.
