MG C (1967 to 1970)

The MG C was a series of sports cars that were introduced in 1967. The MG C was very similar to the MG B, however the C denotes the presence of an inline six cylinder engine. This 2.9L engine, coincidentally named the C-series, was also found in the Austin 3-Litre. The bodyshell of the C received reinforcements as well as a torsion bar suspension in order to manage the engine's additional weight. Tthe only visual clue other than badging between the MG C and the MG B was the C's bulging hood, which was needed to clear the taller, longer engine. The C was built in two variants which equated to the convertible and coupe body styles offered. These variants are known, respectively, as the Roadster and the GT. In addition to standard road-going versions, the MGC was commonly used as a Race Car. Production of the MG C only lasted until 1970.
