The Morgan Motor Company, better known as Morgan, is a British automotive manufacturer founded in 1910. Morgan began life building front engined three wheeler cars, with two wheels in the front and one in the rear. After these early three wheelers, which included the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/morgan/v-twin-three-wheeler/">V-Twin Three Wheeler</a> and <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/morgan/f-series-three-wheeler/">F-Series Three Wheeler</a>, Morgan began building four wheel roadsters with models such as the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/morgan/44/">4/4</a> and the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/morgan/plus-4/">+4</a>, before later models like the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/morgan/plus-8/">Plus 8</a> and <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/morgan/aero-8/">Aero 8</a> only further established the company as a builder of retro-inspired, classically designed sporty roadsters.

Morgan first introduced the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/morgan/plus-4/">+4</a> in 1950. This new model of sports cars featured a longer chassis than its sibling, the Morgan 4/4, and was offered in two or four door roadster, or two or four door drophead coupe. The first generation of +4 was initially powered by a 68hp 2.1L inline four engine, but in 1953, it was replaced by a more powerful 2.0L Triumph-sourced unit. This engine only lasted until 1955, when Morgan updated it with the 2.0L unit from the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/triumph/tr3">Triumph TR3</a>. From 1962 onwards, the larger 2.1L inline four engine from the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/triumph/tr4">Triumph TR4</a> was used. Production of the first generation +4 lasted until 1969, when it was replaced by the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/morgan/plus-4/2nd-gen/">Second Generation Morgan +4</a>.

This second generation of +4 was launched with a Fiat-sourced 2.0L inline four engine, but from 1988 onwards, this engine was replaced by a Rover-sourced inline four unit. These rear wheel cars retained much of the style of its predecessor, but featured many modern improvements. Production of the second generation +4 lasted until 2000, and it wouldn&#39;t be until 2005 that Morgan would introduce the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/morgan/plus-4/3rd-gen/">Third Generation +4</a>.

The Morgan 4/4 was a series of sports cars that were introduced in 1936. The 4/4 was named for the model&#39;s four cylinders and four wheels (as previous Morgans had been three wheelers), and was largely offered as a roadster during its lifespan, although a drophead coupe was built during the model&#39;s early years. Except for a few breaks, the 4/4 was in continuous production for over 80 years until it was discontinued in 2019. The Morgan Plus 8 was a series of sports cars introduced in 1968. The Plus 8, also referred to as the +8, was based on the <a href="https://www.classic.com/m/morgan/plus-4/">Morgan +4</a>, but was powered by a Rover-sourced V8 engine. This model was offered as an open top roadster with drive going to the rear wheels through manual or automatic transmissions. Morgan built the Plus 8 in two main generations, the 1st, introduced in 1968 and running until 2004, was powered by a Rover&#39;s V8 engine (3.5L, 3.9L, and 4.6L units).
