Motori Minarelli, founded in 1951 in Bologna, Italy, became one of Europe’s most influential manufacturers of small- and mid-displacement motorcycle engines. From the 1950s through the 1990s, the company supplied two- and four-stroke powerplants to numerous Italian and international motorcycle brands, playing a key role in postwar motorcycling growth. Known for durability, versatility, and competitive performance, Minarelli engines were widely used in both road and off-road applications. In 2002, Motori Minarelli was acquired by Yamaha Motor Company, continuing production under Yamaha ownership to the present day.
