MV Agusta 1100 D2 Autocarro (1957 to 1964)

Produced between 1957 and roughly 1964 with a highly limited run of only about 2,000 units, the MV Agusta 1100 D2 Autocarro was engineered as a robust, short-haul urban and rural workhorse for postwar Italy. This compact commercial vehicle featured a LHD, cab-over-engine layout that maximized its rear cargo space, sending power to a solid rear axle via a 4-speed manual transmission equipped with a high-low transfer case. At its heart was a specialized, 1,079cc air-cooled parallel twin-cylinder diesel engine producing 27 horsepower, which was specifically geared for low-RPM pulling power rather than speed. While originally tasked with navigating tight, ancient Italian village centers to haul heavy goods, surviving examples are incredibly rare today and are highly sought after by collectors, who frequently restore them in Squadra Corse racing livery to serve as vintage motorcycle transporters.
