Introduced in 1993, the GT-R V-Spec I was a limited production variant of the R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R. The V-Spec I was created to celebrate the GT-R's success in Group A and Group N racing, and the variant's name is short for Victory Specification. Although featuring the same RB26DETT inline six as the Base GT-R, the V-Spec I was given larger wheels, upgraded brakes, a lightened hood, and an improved ATTESA all wheel drive system. Production of the R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec I ended in 1994, with a total of 1,396 examples built. Nissan would later introduced an R32 GT-R V-Spec II.
