The third generation of the Oldsmobile Series 70 was introduced for the 1949 model year. The third generation of Series 70 was only available as the 76, which was fitted with a 4.2L inline six engine , and offered in a variety of body styles. For the 1949 year, the 76 was known as the Futuramic, due to the new styling. Production of the third generation Series 70 lasted until 1950.
