Peugeot 205 Rallye (1988 to 1992)

The 205 Rallye was unveiled in 1988 as an affordable yet sporty variant of the Peugeot 205. The 205 Rallye was powered by the same engine used in the 1.1-liter 205 but modified and equipped with twin Weber carburetors to achieve total engine displacement of 1294 cc and 102hp. The sporty and eager engine sensation was also achieved by bringing down the weight to no more than 794 kg after all soundproofing and most electrical systems and other luxury items were eliminated. The 205 Rallye is nowadays very popular among 205 GTI enthusiasts. In addition to the 1.3-liter version, around 1,000 units with a 1.9L powerplant were produced and sold in Germany. The 205 Rallye ended production in 1992.
