The Peugeot 505 was a series of large family cars introduced in 1979. The 505 was offered as a sedan or station wagon, and has the distinction of being the last rear wheel drive car made by Peugeot. A large range of naturally aspirated and turbocharged inline four engines were fitted, and they were available as gasoline or diesel units. Near the end of the model's life, a limited run of 505 cars were fitted with a V6 engine, before production ended in 1992. Licenced versions of the Peugeot 505 were also made internationally until 1997.
