The Pontiac Grand Safari was a series of full size station wagons first introduced for the 1971 model year. The Grand Safari was the top of the line for Pontiac wagons, and for a time was the largest vehicle produced by Pontiac. The Grand Safari was available with a range of V8 engines, and often featured wood panelling on the sides and rear of the car. Production of the Grand Safari ended in 1978. Starting in 1979 and beyond, the Grand Safari became a trim level for the Pontiac Bonneville.
