Porsche 356 C Carrera 2 (1963 to 1964)

The Porsche 356 Carrera 2 was the top-of-the-line variant of the last generation Porsche 356 C. It was the last evolution of a Porsche 356 equipped with the iconic Carrera four-cylinder, four-cam engine designed by Ernst Fuhrmann. It is estimated that only 101 of these cars were produced, of which about 30 are said to be Cabriolets. Featuring the updated Type 587 engine, these had either 130 or 160 HP depending on the variant equipped (GS or GT). This same engine was used to power the first Porsche 904 in 1963, making the 356 C Carrera possibly the highest-performing production sports car produced until the 911S.
