The Porsche 911 GT3 R was a customer racing variant for the GT3 series worldwide. It was introduced in 2019 based on the 991.2 GT3 RS production sports car. The 991.2 GT3 R was powered by a 4.0L flat-six engine with direct fuel injection, capable of 550hp, driving power to the rear wheels via a sequential six-speed constant-mesh gearbox with an electric shift drum actuator. During its development, special attention was paid to aerodynamics, improved handling, and further optimised safety as well as lowering the cost of servicing and spare parts.
