Porsche 911 GT3 - 996.2 (2004 to 2005)

The Porsche 911 GT3 996.2 is a high-performance homologation model named after the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Group GT3 racing class (the race-ready version was known as the 996.2 Porsche GT3 Cup). The GT3 featured lightweight materials including thinner windows and deletion of the rear seats. The GT3 was a lighter and more focused design with the emphasis on handling and performance, a concept that dates back to the 1973 Carrera RS. The suspension ride height was lowered and tuned for responsiveness over compliance and comfort. The engine used was a naturally aspirated 3,600 cc (3.6 L) flat-six rated 381hp. Worth noting that the 996.2 GT3 was an evolution of the 996.1 GT3 which was only available in Europe. A total of 4,457 were produced.
