Porsche 944 Turbo S (1988 to 1989)

In 1988, Porsche introduced the 944 Turbo S (internal code name 952) with a more powerful turbocharged 2.5L inline 4 (designation number M44/52) rated at a maximum power output of 247hp driving power to the rear via a 5-speed manual transmission (the engine in the standard 944 Turbo generated 217hp). The higher output in the Turbo S was achieved by using a larger KKK K26-8 turbocharger housing and revised engine mapping. The Turbo S was available in coupe body style only.
