Renault Alliance (1983 to 1987)

The Renault Alliance was a series of subcompact sedans, hatchbacks, and convertibles introduced for the 1983 model year. The Alliance, and its hatchback variant, the Encore, were built by AMC for the North American market and were based on the Renault 9 & 11. Three inline four engine options were available over the course of the model's life, which included the sport GTA variant. Production of the Renault Alliance and its variants ended in 1987.
