REO Royale (1931 to 1935)

The Royale was introduced in 1931 by the REO Motor Car Company as its most ambitious attempt to enter the luxury car segment in the United States. It was equipped with an inline eight engine of around 5.3L, which developed nearly 100hp, coupled to a manual transmission and featuring rear-wheel drive. It was offered in elegant and spacious body styles, including sedans, limousines and luxury closed body models, aimed at customers seeking comfort and prestige. A ​​particularly notable aspect of the REO Royale is that it demonstrated REO's technical capability to manufacture high end automobiles, combining power, smoothness and refinement.
