REO Twin (1906 to 1908)

The Twin was introduced in 1906 by the REO Motor Car Company and represented a direct evolution of the REO Single. It was powered by a two cylinder engine with a displacement of around 2.6L, offering greater smoothness and power than the previous single cylinder engine. This engine was coupled to a simple, low speed manual transmission with rear-wheel drive, in some cases via a chain drive, as was common in early automobiles. Its body style was open, primarily a runabout or light touring car with a simple design focused on reliability.  A notable aspect of the REO Twin is that it marked REO's technical transition to multi cylinder engines. The REO Twin was produced until 1908.
