The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was first released in 1965. Known as the Silver Shadow I, this first iteration of the Silver Shadow brought many modern innovations when it was introduced. The model saw the addition of disc brakes as well as independent rear suspension. Initially fitted with a 6.2L V8 engine, the Silver Shadow was later powered by a 6.7L V8 starting in 1970. The Silver Shadow I was available as a sedan, coupe, or convertible, and was in production until 1976, when it was replaced by the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II.
