Rover Metro (1980 to 1998)

The Rover Metro, which is also referred to as the Rover 100 Series, was a vehicle that belonged to the Supermini category and was introduced in 1980. The Metro was a two or four-door hatchback offered for a short time as a two-door convertible. The car was built in an inline-four, front-wheel drive configuration with manual or automatic transmissions throughout its run. The Metro was also sold under the names Austin Metro and MG Metro. After years of disappointing sales, Rover finally ceased manufacturing the Metro in 1998. In 1995, Rover introduced the 200, which was intended to serve as a successor.
