The Sunbeam Imp was a series of compact economy cars introduced for the 1964 model year. The compact, inline four rear engined Sunbeam Imp was largely a rebadged version of the Hillman Imp. For several export markets, Rootes Group, the owners of Hillman, sold their cars under the Sunbeam brand. The Imp was built in three generations: Mark I (1963-1965), Mark II (1965-1968), and Mark III (1968-1976), although the Mk III was never official, enthusiasts have made it a point to differentiate these cars as they received significant changes after Chrysler's acquisition of Rootes Group.
