Toyota Hilux - N10 - 1st Gen (1968 to 1972)

The first generation of the Toyota Hilux started production in 1968. This tiny two-door truck was first available in a short-wheelbase version; however, a long-wheelbase configuration was produced in 1969 but was not offered in the U.S. until 1972. The Hilux took its place in size just below the Toyota Stout pickup. This first generation was always built with an inline four-cylinder engine, but five versions were offered. The 1.5L (2R) and 1.6L (12R) were offered globally, while the 1.9L (3R), (8R), and 2.0L (18R) were sold in North America. The truck was only offered with a manual, four-speed transmission.
