Triumph Dolomite - 2nd Gen (1972 to 1980)

The 2nd Generation of Triumph Dolomite was produced by The Triumph Motor Company, a division of the famous British Leyland, between October 1972 and August 1980 as a small saloon car. The Dolomite was aimed to compete in the new compact performance-luxury sector against cars such as the BMW 2002 and Ford Cortina GXL. Standard equipment was high, providing customers with twin headlamps, a clock, full instrumentation, luxury seats and carpets, a heated rear window, and a cigar lighter. The Base Model Dolomite was powered by a 1854cc inline four engine providing 91hp; later the Sprint variant was launched, making it the sportier version with a 2.0L DOHC inline four delivering 127hp. Three other mid-range models were available them being the 1500, 1500HL and the 1850HL. Production of the Triumph Dolomite came to an end when the Triumph Acclaim came to market.
