Volvo S60 R-Design - 2nd Gen (2011 to 2018)

The Volvo S60 R-Design of the second generation is a sporty trim of Volvo’s compact executive sedan, produced between 2010 and 2018 as part of the second generation S60 lineup, which succeeded the first-generation model (2000–2009). On the exterior, the R-Design distinguished itself with a more aggressive body kit, deeper front bumper, gloss black grille, dual exhaust outlets, and unique 18-inch alloy wheels, giving the sedan a sharper, performance-oriented stance. Inside, the cabin featured sport front bucket seats with enhanced bolstering, leather and nubuck upholstery, aluminum inlays, a sport steering wheel, and Volvo’s Sensus infotainment system. The suspension was tuned specifically for R-Design, with stiffer springs, firmer dampers, and a lowered ride height compared to standard trims, delivering more agile handling. Engine options varied by market, including a 2.0 L turbocharged inline-four producing 240 hp in the T5, a 2.4 L D5 turbodiesel with 215 hp, and the range-topping 3.0 L T6 turbocharged inline-six with 304 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. Power was delivered through either a 6-speed manual or 6-/8-speed automatic transmission, with FWD or AWD configurations depending on the engine.
