1934 Ford 3 Window Coupe Street Rod

This ZZ-Top-esque 34 Ford Chopped, 3 window coupe was purchased about 5 years ago by the current owner. He was looking for a Ford powered street rod and had a hard time finding one.

This one is all Ford!

The hot 302 runs an Edelbrock chrome intake with a chrome Edelbrock 4BBL carb. Billet valve covers and lots of other chrome and billet bits under the hood finish things out. Vintage Air compressor is also chromed along with the power brake master and booster. Stainless steel shorty headers funnel the spent gasses out through a dual exhaust, Thrush style tube mufflers and custom square tips. An electric vacuum pump was added as the brake booster wasn't getting enough vacuum when at idle to operate the brakes correctly. In addition to that, the current owner added new front coil overs, all new front end bushings and adjustable rear connecting arms. Keeping with the Ford way of thinking, the front end is all Mustang II and the rear set up is Fox body 8.8 with a limited slip. Gear ratio is unknown. The power from the 302 gets to the 8.8 rear via a Ford 4 speed AOD automatic, overdrive transmission.

There is ONE Chevy item tucked in among all the Ford goodies .. that is the electronic ignition/distributor.

The street rod is brought to a halt by front disc brakes and large drums out back.

The Fly Yellow all fiberglass body is believed to be an original Gibbon unit over a custom, square tube frame. it is clean and non rusty.

As it is fiberglass and the build is thought to be over 20 years old, there are a few minor cracks that have been touched up. One needs to look hard to find them, they are all denoted in the photos. Any chips in the paint have been touched up as well, all very minor and pointed out in the photos. At 3 feet they are not noticeable.

There are two side panels for the hood , however, the current owner removed them as they didn't allow easy access to the engine without removing them first .. and with something 8 bolts each, it wasn't quick or easy. One of them is on for some of the photos, they both come with the car.

The interior is done in a tan leather and the seats are believed to be from a later model T-Bird with the thigh support extenders. Power windows and lots more billet. The door handles and all the trim. The panels on the dash hold VDO gauges and the oil pressure shows great when cold started and idling warm. There are Pyle speakers behind the seats and the empty billet hole in the dash are evidence of the stereo that wasn't. Apparently there was a radio in that slot but it had no wires and it wasn't connected to anything. Our guess is that the previous owner had plans but didn't finish them.

The trunk is finished in a matching leather and carpet and hides a jack and spare tire under the floor board.

Turn the key, and the engine fires right up, even on the 95 degree and humid day the videos were taken. The ride is comfortable and the car handles the corners well due to the new suspension bits and new bushings. The AT shifts crisply and feels great just cruising.

If you're looking for a head turning street rod, that needs nothing to be enjoyed, this is your car. (We don't know what the former owner meant by the symbols stitched into the leather and floor mats).

Asking price on this turn key bright yellow all Ford street rod is $38,000
