I bought this car in 1973 when I was almost 20 .I loved the car and liked the fact we were both the same age . It ran good and had a lot of power . I had to take it up to 120 mph and was surprised as it seemed to smooth out like it enjoyed it as much as I did . I never did it again . When I bought it it was British Racing Green ,Tan interior with a black top . The wire wheels were white and the rear tires were worn ( I know why ) . The condition was good and what you would expect for a 20 year old car . The mileage seemed low at 26,000 miles but I don’t think these cars were ever the daily driver .
Between getting married , raising a family , and starting a business I didn’t have much time to drive it either . But I kept it ready for the most part replacing batteries and getting work done as needed . I always thought that it would look great with Black paint ,Top , and interior so I had it all done in 1991 . At the same time I had the motor pulled out and everything done mechanically as needed including suspension , brakes , electrical wiring harness , and new stainless steel exhaust . This is when I found out even though it was the correct C Type engine , the numbers didn’t match. I didn’t know about numbers when I bought the car and with the low mileage thought it was all original . I have no Idea why . All I know is this was the fastest production car in the world at its time and looks like it . I love this beautiful car and love driving it . I only wish I drove it more . We are both 72 now and looking good but plans change and it’s time for us to part .
My plan was to keep this car forever but my new home is on an Island in Belize , no cars .
