This Siata 208 S Spider was a special order by Ernie McAfee, who had signed a contract for USA-importer for Siata.
It was ordered with the intention to race the car in the SCCA Championship, so Ernie wanted it to have a lightweight (alloy) body and a five speed gearbox for high speed racing. The car was fully prepared for the 1953 Carrera PanAmericana Road Race. All this is widely documented. Ernie raced the car in 14 SCCA races.
