What’s special about this listing

Lincoln Continental MK2 for sale

Lincoln Continental Mark II was produced only in 1956 and 1957 and was considered America's answer to the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud and Bentley Continental. It was the most expensive production car of its time, and it's easy to understand why when you see the car today.

Exterior: The Lincoln Continental MK2 Model 60A Sport Coupe is the kind of car that turns heads, even if you have no interest in classic cars whatsoever. It’s a large, low-slung vehicle with clean lines and a big-dollar grin up front. This Continental MK2 remains remarkably original, though it has been repainted at some point. All chrome details appear to be original and are still in very nice condition. The heavy doors align well once properly closed. The car rolls on a set of whitewall tyres. Personally, I feel this model and most classic luxury cars look best in dark colours. And just take a look at that emblem on the trunk! They simply don’t make them like that anymore.

Interior: It feels as if time has stood still inside the Lincoln Continental MK2. The interior is completely original and in surprisingly good condition. Yes, the carpet shows some stains and slight fading, but it’s all original. The seats are finished in leather with cloth inserts in the center. There are so many unique levers for the heating system that it feels a bit like sitting in an airplane. The instruments have elegant, watch-like backgrounds and are all still in perfect working order. All the windows are power-operated, even the small quarter windows in the doors. Access to the back seat is easy, and there’s plenty of room back there as well.

Engine and Mechanics: The Lincoln Continental MK2 Sport Coupe is powered by a big, solid 368 V8 engine. It starts easily and runs smoothly. The following work has been carried out in recent years:

New battery
Compression test with even results across all cylinders
New spark plugs and cables
New radiator hoses
Brakes overhauled
Fuel pump and carburetor rebuilt
Fluids changed
New whitewall tyres
History and Documentation: The Lincoln was originally sold by Motor Company in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA. According to the documentation, the first owner, Mr. Schoeneman, kept the car until 2007. The second owner had it until 2017, and since 2020, the car has been registered in Denmark. The original jack and spare tire are still with the car.

Just over 3,000 Lincoln Continental MK2s were ever produced, and Ford Motor Company reportedly lost $1,000 on every car sold new. Liz Taylor and Frank Sinatra were among the Hollywood stars driving a Continental, and now you have the chance to!
