About this 1959 Buick LeSabre

VIN: 4F4020515

This vehicle is located in Urbana, Illinois. Offered for sale out of long-term ownership is a well maintained 1959 Tampico Red LeSabre Convertible. Powered by the trusty 364 cubic inch Wildcat motor featuring a 2-barrel carburetor rated at a respectable 250 horsepower. The drivetrain is the standard 2-speed Dynaflow Twin Turbine transmission with a column mounted shifter. The cabin is equipped with the standard equipment for the 1959 model year, also featuring power steering without the optional power brakes. Due to the age of the vehicle, mileage is exempt but currently reads (22,xxx?)

The car was purchased from the east coast over a decade ago and has since benefited from thoughtful maintenance from an experienced GM collector. The Dynaflow transmission was removed and serviced, it received new seals at that time. Under the hood presents a new water pump assembly, rebuilt generator, rebuilt carburetor and recent plug and point replacement. The motor runs smoothly with no suspicious noises, knocks, or rattles. The transmission is very smooth with no unusual lag or hesitation. The drum brakes were fully serviced in 2024 and new brake cylinders and master cylinder were installed. The motor does have a few minor oil leaks coming from the rear of the engine, only a small puddle after a season in storage. No antifreeze, transmission fluid, or brake fluid drips were detected. The gas pedal vacuum start is finicky, a push button bypass start button has been discreetly added under the dash for reliability.

The interior presents nicely with no unsightly rips, stains, or excessive wear. The Fisher body has held its integrity and presents an older driver quality repaint. The underside of the car has been coated, but preserves its integrity. No holes, welds, or modifications present underneath the car. The chrome shines wonderfully with the exception of some frost on the underside of bumpers and wheel covers. The power top is free of any rips or stains, and only shows the slightest of discoloration from years of aging. All gauges are operational and the AM radio is functional, but presents speaker noise and static. The convertible boot and car cover are stored nicely in the trunk and included in the sale. The whitewall tires remain in fine shape with ample tread, free of any cracks or abnormalities. An extra set of rims are also included in the sale. Extra parts and manuals are also included.

This car is being offered to settle an estate; therefore, financing or delivery assistance will not be possible. The car is priced to sell fast, so please, no tire kickers, perfectionists, or test pilots. This is a very nice #3 quality example for the money, it would be hard to improve upon for the price. The car spent the last decade participating in local car shows and an occasional Sunday drive. Proof of funds requested before test drives.
