1965 Ford Mustang GT Fastback – Maeco Pro-Touring Build
for sale by Dynamic Motorsports in Flower Mound, TX
Described as a “fully independent Ferrari wrapped in vintage tin,” this 1965 Mustang GT fastback is an extraordinary pro-touring build engineered for both street comfort and serious performance.
Originally built in 2004 by Maeco Motorsport of California, the project began with a rust-free 1965 Mustang fastback. The unibody was extensively reinforced with Maeco-spec torque boxes, frame rails, subframe connectors, and a carbon-fiber-reinforced roll cage to handle the power of its 530 HP Ford Racing engine. The body remains all metal, featuring subtly flared fenders for wider wheels and tires, a custom-fit hood with functional Shelby GT350 scoop and NACA ducts, functional rear spoiler, Ring Brothers billet hood hinges, and LED projector headlamps. Panel fit and body gaps are exceptional.
More than $155,000 was invested in the original build, with an additional $160,000 later spent refining and upgrading the car. All major running gear components have been rebuilt or replaced within the last 3,200 miles.
