What’s special about this listing
Well-preserved survivor, ready for your one-of-a-kind restoration. 39-year owned 1967 GTO Sports Coupe built for comfort, not for speed in Fremont, CA. This beauty is well endowed with: Factory A/C, Tilt wheel, Rally gauges, AM/FM with power antenna, power driver seat and reclining passenger seat (both with headrests), and power windows. A bit on the heavy side, she has a balanced and blueprinted (original) YS400 bored to a 409 when engine rebuilt in 1987, with factory P cam, Headman headers and an 1800 rpm stall-speed torque converter on the original (rebuilt in1989) T400 transmission to help her get off the line. At speed, her California rear end (2.93) makes her a good cruiser. Acquired in 1986 from Bruce Bethel’s Goat Farm when my prior restored ’67 was stolen near St. Louis. Chrome-off preservation re-paint over the original maroon color in 2008. Garaged ever since. Window sticker and factory order sheet from PHS, original owner’s manual, Body by Fisher Shop Manual, and reproduced 1967 GM Pontiac shop manual. Solid rear control arms and rear stabilizer (a dealer available option) installed to reduce lean around curves. Gas tank and sending unit replaced in 2018. Looking to hand her off to a quality restorer for the stock makeover she deserves.
