About the model

The Volvo Amazon (known as the 122S in North America) was introduced for the 1956 model year. Originally, the Amazon was offered as the 121 variant, which was the base model, but starting in 1958, the 122S variant was introduced. The 122S was also known as the Amazon Sport, and featured a tuned 1.8L inline-four engine. Three main body styles were offered, including sedan, coupe, and station wagon. Another notable Amazon variant was the 123GT, a sporty variant introduced in 1967. Production of the Volvo Amazon ended in 1970.
