What’s special about this listing

There is no car that gets more attention from people of all ages than a classic Fiat 500! I am selling a 1968 500F. With its painted metal dash and round speedo housing, the 500F is recognized as the most attractive of the classic 500 variants.

I bought this one as a project car, and I have had a great time doing the mechanical work to make it a driver, but I no longer have room for it. The next owner could continue to use it as a driver as-is or do some body and paintwork and make it a real stunner. I'm pricing it with plenty of room for a new owner to do that work and make a nice profit if that’s what they are into.

Current condition: It starts, drives, steers, and stops great. Engine, transmission, brakes, tires, electrics are all renewed or replaced under my ownership. Suspension is sound (leaf springs, coil springs, shocks, swing arms). Floor was replaced/repaired by previous owner and has no visible flaws. Upholstery is in good condition. It's a lot of fun to drive, and it gets smiles and waves on every drive.

History: This car was purchased in May 1968 in Piacenza and was registered there until 2011 when it was moved to Naples. It was purchased by a US serviceman in 2017, who imported in 2018. Sale includes documentation of its ownership history from the Automobile Club of Italy and all import paperwork. I bought in 2020 and brought it to Colorado Springs where I've worked on it myself and kept it garaged year-round ever since.

What I've done:
o Replaced the engine with a 1966 110F engine and transmission with only 15K miles on them.
o Renewed the entire brake system: new hard and flex tubes; replaced master cylinders and all 4 brake cylinders and shoes; replaced rear drums.
o Replaced all four tires.
o Installed modern, retractable shoulder belts.
o Replaced accelerator pedal, interior and exterior rear view mirrors, as well as glovebox
o Renewed speedo lens, dashboard lights, and switches.
o Tested all electrics; rewired and replaced bulbs and fuses as needed.

Known defects:
o The floor of the spare wheel/battery compartment is rusted through in places; Same with surfaces behind and underneath back seat; Surface rust on various interior surfaces.
o The rear panel has some questionable-looking rust repair around the engine mount (done by a previous owner).
o Paint job from a previous owner looks good from a few feet away, but it has lots of blotches and scratches and a couple of places with rust bubbles visible from close up.
o Missing: carpeting, headliner, spare wheel.
o Steering wheel has a crack; door cards are worn; horn button needs to be replaced; windshield washer is not connected.

I'm willing to share photos or video of anything, show it in person or on a video call, and make it available for pre-purchase inspection.

Will arrange for shipping anywhere.
