This 1969 International Harvester Scout 800A underwent a multi-year refurbishment under previous ownership with work that involved repairing various metal panels, repainting the body in Lime Green Metallic, retrimming the interior in black vinyl, and rebuilding the 304ci V8. Shifting is through a three-speed automatic transmission, and the truck rides on a lifted suspension in addition to 17″ alloy wheels. Further equipment includes manually locking front hubs, a dual-range transfer case, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, a black soft top, heated and ventilated front bucket seats, an Alpine head unit, and a custom audio system along with an Edelbrock carburetor, a Davis Unified Ignition distributor, an aluminum radiator, and a dual exhaust system. Acquired by its current owner on October 2021, this Scout is now offered by the seller with refurbishment photos and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
During the aforementioned refurbishment, the body was removed from the frame, repairs were performed to various metal panels, the antenna, door lock holes, and side markers were shaved, and the truck was repainted in Lime Green Metallic. Details include a Softopper vinyl soft top with roll-up sides as well as LED exterior lighting, satin black—finished bumpers, and dual side mirrors. The windshield wipers have been removed.
Black-finished 17″ alloy wheels are wrapped with 315/70 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T tires. The truck rides on a listed suspension and is equipped with power steering and manually locking front hubs. The four-wheel disc brakes feature a D&C Extreme Industries brake booster and cross-drilled and slotted rotors mounted out back.
The heated and ventilated front bucket seats are trimmed in black vinyl with green stitching, and color-matching material extends to the rear bench seat. Bedliner material lines the floorboards, and appointments include a Tuffy locking center console, push-button ignition, a touchscreen Alpine head unit, Pioneer audio speakers, and a Cerwin Vega subwoofer mounted beneath the driver’s seat.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Speedhut instrumentation that consists of a GPS-based 100-mph speedometer, a voltmeter, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The odometer indicates 2,100 miles, the distance traveled since the completion of the build.
The 304ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt under previous ownership and features an Edelbrock carburetor and a Davis Unified Ignition distributor. An aluminum radiator is installed, and hydraulic hood support struts have been added. The rear main seal and oil pan gasket were replaced in October 2021.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The truck is equipped with a dual-range transfer case and Dana 44 axles; however, the front driveshaft is missing. Replacement fuel tanks, a dual exhaust system, and an auxiliary transmission cooler with an electric fan are fitted. The transmission pan gasket and rear transfer case seal were replaced in October 2021.
