Offering a ground up restoration 1969 Series 2A 88. What started as a minor project 7 years ago expanded to a full reservation starting with a new frame. The majority of parts are original and what was unavailable was purchased from Rovers North and Atlantic British land rover specialist out of Vermont. Original engine cleaned and painted with 49000 miles. I have the original top painted white and the sides and rear door in matching orange. Easily converted back to the Hard top 2A. Being that it is strictly a Sunday driver i prefer the top-down option, stored in my heated garage. I do have a hard drive of all the photos and work being done and receipts. Appraisal for replacement was over $115,000. I put the military rims on and BFG tires. Also has a new overdrive sourced from BC company Rover Drive . More photos are available and its a head turner with the stand out Orange colour oversized BFG tires . I have a number of of totes with various parts and things that have been collected or held onto during the restoration. I am torn on selling it as its always a perfect day when i take it out, but also I am excited that a new owner can appreciate it and get more use. Serious parties only.
Appraisal Summary:
Land Rover models were originally marketed as robust and reliable utility vehicles. They had
limited options and were simply designed. Later models evolved to more complex vehicles with
some emphasis on comfort and luxury. This utility vehicle is a 1969 Land Rover Series IIA base or
station wagon 88” wheelbase model. It shows no aging and wear and is overall in condition. It has
been totally restored and is only used for casual driving and car shows. It is never off-roaded or
driven in competition. Several similar Land Rovers were found for sale in USA with asking prices
ranging from $ 25,000.00 to $ 68,000.00 US depending primarily on extent of restoration and
condition. Asking prices of the most representative (totally restored) Land Rovers IIA 88’s were
considered to establish a base value and converted to CDN $ to establish a market value of $
93,100.00. The owner would like consideration given to the cost of the invoices available for the
restoration for his insurance results in a replacement of cost of build value as noted below and
itemized on page six.
