1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Station Wagon – 454 Big-Block, 8-Passenger, Gear Vendors Overdrive, Restomod
We don't come across cars like this very often. And when we do, we try not to oversell them, because the right buyer already knows.
This is a 1970 Chevelle Station Wagon. Factory 8-seater, rear-facing third row, dual-action tailgate, and a freshly rebuilt 454 big-block under that long hood. It's been sympathetically upgraded to drive in the real world without losing what makes it special. If you've been looking for something that turns heads at a show and still makes sense on a Sunday drive with the family, this might be the one.
Exterior
The car was repainted in white with metallic blue stripes, clean, period-inspired, and it suits the proportions of the wagon body well. Most of the chrome was replaced: front bumper, headlight bezels, grille, mirrors, trim strips, emblems. New rubbers throughout, fresh side markers and taillight lenses. Underneath, cavity wax protection was applied, along with a new fuel tank, new fuel lines and a new handbrake mechanism. It's solid everywhere it counts.
Interior
Blue interior, three bench seats, room for eight. The rear-facing third row is still there and still works, and if you're of a certain age, you'll remember exactly what it was like to ride back there as a kid on a long highway somewhere in America. It's one of those details that stops people in their tracks at shows. Vintage Air A/C was added for modern comfort on long trips, along with a custom steering wheel and a supplemental gauge cluster. Everything is clean, functional, and honest.
Under the hood
The 454 has been freshly rebuilt and fitted with a Holley Sniper EFI system. It starts easily, idles cleanly, and pulls hard when you ask it to, without any of the fussing around that comes with a carburetor on a cold morning. Headers feed into a custom exhaust that was built in Germany: it sounds serious without being antisocial. The automatic transmission was upgraded and paired with a Gear Vendors overdrive unit, which drops highway RPM considerably and makes this a car you can actually cover miles in. New torque converter as well.
The VIN — 134460L186145
Model code 4460 tells you this is a genuine factory 4-door, 3-seat station wagon with dual-action tailgate. Built in Los Angeles. 1970 model year. This is the real thing, not a wagon conversion, not a clone. A documented, original-body Chevelle wagon that's been properly sorted.
Paperwork
The vehicle is currently registered in Germany. Dutch or Belgian registration is available on request. For US buyers, we handle the complete export and shipping process from our end, so there's no paperwork burden on your side. In most cases you simply pick the car up from the shipping yard nearest to you, and in some cases we can arrange door-to-door delivery straight to your driveway.
A word to our American buyers
We're based in the Netherlands, and we want to be upfront about that, because we know what it means to wire money across the Atlantic for a car you haven't sat in yet. We sell several high-end American classics to the US every year, and our customers have always left happy. We've learned what American buyers need from us: honest condition
descriptions, thorough photo and video documentation, and logistics that don't become your problem.
We handle the complete shipping process from our side. All the export paperwork, documentation and freight coordination is taken care of. Most buyers simply pick the car up from their nearest shipping yard, and in some cases we deliver straight to your door. You won't be chasing paperwork or making calls to a port. We've done this enough times that the process is smooth, and we're happy to walk you through every step of it.
If you want more photos, a walkaround video, undercarriage footage, or close-ups of any specific detail, just ask. We'll get it to you quickly. No question is too small, and no request is too much.
Bottom line
Factory Chevelle wagons are rare. A sorted, driving one with a built 454, overdrive, and A/C is something else entirely. This isn't a project, it's a car you take home and enjoy from day one.
