1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429

The “big block” Boss 429 arrived in mid-1969 as a way to homologate the “semi-hemi” 429-cubic-inch V-8 engine for both NASCAR and NHRA drag racing. A minimum of 500 examples needed to be produced for public consumption in order to run the engine in series racing. Only 499 cars were produced, and the Boss 429 is one of the most iconic and revered muscle cars from the classic era, known for its raw power and rarity. It featured free-flowing cylinder heads, a high-rise intake manifold, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, 4-speed manual transmission, and a 3.91:1 rear axle ratio.
