What’s special about this listing

This is a rust-free, excellent-running driver-quality roadster. It is perfect for club meetings, "coffee and cars" events, and vintage car events. It is a "numbers-matching" car but otherwise it is not a "concourse" or "show" car. I bought it as a "running project" last year and have done or had done extensive cosmetic and mechanical work. The receipts for major items are pictured.

Paint and exterior
Originally BRG with beige interior; somewhere along the line it was Black/Red, and when I got it, Red/Tan. I had it resprayed White. The overall appearance is eye-catching. No bodywork was necessary, though I did replace both floor pans, which came with it from the P.O, and the only place I found any evidence of rust. All the lighting, bonnet, boot, and door sill gaskets were removed for paint and replaced. I fitted new front and rear bumpers. The rest of the chrome is in excellent condition. Atlantic Coventry, a Jaguar specialty shop, installed the new top. The frame and header are sound, and the latches work properly. All window glass is clear and undamaged.
Upholstery and interior
A complete new interior sourced from Lakewell in Belgium, including leather seat covers, carpet, door cards, console, door sills, and waterfall trim, has been installed over heat & noise shield material. Both the seat cushions and diaphragms have been replaced. I cut new wood decking for the boot and installed a new boot trim kit, also from Lakewell. I took liberties with the dash pad and visors, which are new and now red.
Engine
Original Engine: Yes. Rebuild date: Unknown. In preparation for the sale, the radiator, both cooling fans, water pump and hoses were replaced. The ignition, hydraulic, brake, and electrical systems, lights, and gauges were serviced and operational. Compression was tested, plugs cleaned, filters & fluid. The car starts and warms up normally with good oil pressure. The car runs and drives well with impressive acceleration, good handling, and braking. (See PPI inspection/service report & invoice from Atlantic Coventry Jaguar Specialists)
Wheels and tires
Fitted with 215-75-15 steel-belted radial tube tires and chrome wheels with knock-off hubs. The tires have good tread remaining and are well-balanced. The car tracks straight. The tubes hold constant air pressure for months at a time. The wheels are undamaged, but some spokes show some minor corrosion. The spare is the same, though it is a different brand with significant wear. A factory jack with original bag, wheel hub knock-off tool and mallet are included.
Brakes
The E-type is fitted with 4-wheel disc brakes. The brakes were bled and adjusted. The clutch was adjusted. The hand brake light occasionally flickers on because the parking brake handle stands proud due to the thickness of the new console heat shielding and leather, but the brake switch is new.
Transmission
The stock, synchronized 4-speed transmission shifts well.
Mileage
Obviously, there is no way to be sure since the car is 55 years old, but given that the XKE has enjoyed collector status for over a quarter century, it is more than possible that it has been driven sparingly in that time. I have only driven 400 miles during my ownership, having another classic as well as did the P.O. Tellingly, insurance policies are typically written for 500 miles per year or less.
Warranty: NO
I have made every effort to describe the condition as accurately as possible. I welcome any questions and can provide additional photos, videos, and video chats as necessary.
