We are excited to offer on behalf of one of our clients, this outstanding 1970 Porsche 914-6.
For many years, 2shores has been offering selected, finest grade examples of collectible automobiles. This unique 914-6 is one of those examples!
Porsche’s 914/6 variant featured the 2.0 L air-cooled Type 901/3 flat-six engine from the 1967–1969 911T model.
All engines were placed amidships in front of a version of the 1969 911’s “901” gearbox configured for a mid-engined sports car. Karmann manufactured the rolling chassis at their plant, completing Volkswagen production in-house or delivering versions to Porsche for their final assembly.
Our car is believed to be a 2 or 3 owner California car. It had been registered at Edwards Air Base from 1979 to 2004 (original window stickers obtained) and then was stored for 10 years before the current owner in Germany bought it.
Upon arrival in Germany, the car was treated to a bare metal, nut and bolt restoration. The body was 100% rust-free and this is likely one of very few 914-6 that still have their 100% original body and floor pan. No welding and no replacement parts on this unique example. The restoration process in Germany was extremely thorough with an emphasis to keep the car as original as possible. The numbers matching 6 cylinder engine has been carefully rebuilt as well with only 1200 miles since. The result is a wonderful, authentic 914-6 in like new condition.
The car comes with toolkit, spare and jack.
Only 3351 examples of the 914-6 were ever built, how many are left in this authentic condition?
Since time travel is not (yet) possible, this car is what a factory brand new 914-6 would have looked and felt like!
Very rare opportunity!
Please study all the photos closely to evaluate the condition of this car!
Located in Germany. Pre purchase inspections are welcomed as always!
