This beautifully restored 1971 Porsche 914 Targa, finished in rare Gold Metallic (code #88), is a show-quality example of Porsche’s iconic mid-engine sports car. Produced in collaboration with Volkswagen from 1969–1976, the 914 features a targa top and two-seat roadster design. This car was assembled in Osnabrück, West Germany in January 1971 and is accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity (issued February 3, 2014), documenting options including special paint, tinted glass, heated rear window, forged wheels, and center console.

The rare Gold Metallic finish was a special-order color seldom seen today. The car earned two First Place awards at the Westfest Car Show, with ribbons included. Purchased in 2012 by Karl Manderbach of Loveland, Colorado, it underwent a meticulous 3-year restoration completed in 2015, documented with hundreds of photos (included via thumb drive and book), along with manuals and organized receipts. MS Classic Cars acquired the vehicle in March 2026, marking its first offering since restoration.

Exterior:
The body was stripped to bare metal and refinished in its original Gold Metallic, with over $30,000 invested in bodywork by Ronin Motorsport, Restoration Design, and Custom Auto. The finish is show-quality with excellent panel fitment. The lower body was refinished in correct black. The restored targa top, new front and rear glass, and refreshed trim, lighting, seals, and chrome bumpers complete the exterior. It features 7” Hella H4 headlights and new 17” Klassik Radar wheels with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires. Included are restored 15” Pedrini wheels with Uniroyal tires.

Interior:
Restored in original black, the interior features a rebuilt wiring harness, sound deadening, NOS dash components, correct steering wheel, and restored VDO gauges. Seats, belts, console, carpeting, and trim were restored or replaced. An aftermarket door panel upgrade adds subtle refinement. Everything is functional, including the radio. Both front and rear storage compartments are detailed, with new carpeting, spare tire, and tool kit included.

Engine & Drivetrain:
The rebuilt 1.7L fuel-injected flat-four engine (76 HP) was professionally rebuilt by Vee W Unlimited. It features Bosch D-Jetronic injection and a new exhaust system. Power is delivered through a rebuilt 5-speed manual transmission with new clutch components. The car runs and drives excellent.

Undercarriage:
Highly detailed and fully restored, including fuel, steering, suspension, and braking systems. Equipped with Koni shocks and professionally restored brake calipers.

This is a rare opportunity to own a beautifully restored, award-winning Porsche 914 in a seldom-seen factory color, offered with NO RESERVE.
