About this 1972 Chevrolet Blazer

VIN: CKE182S155094

This custom Hogan Built 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer with a corrosion-free body has been completely sandblasted, along with metalwork and bodywork that show the result of a concours-worthy refinish. It's refinished in a PPG 'Mint my Mind' and Mercedes Cirrus White two-toned paint job. This Blazer retains truck-style side trim, with a hand-laid pinstripe on the 'Chevrolet' tailgate. It rides on a set of 17-inch KMC beadlock wheels wrapped with BFGoodrich KM3 tires. The fiberglass top has been completely redone, gel-coated, retextured and refinished in factory satin. The top has been upgraded with rear gas shocks, new weatherstripping and brand-new glass. Even the chassis was completely reworked and all holes have been welded. The frame also features custom-fabricated crossmembers, suspension hangers and shackles. After the fabrication was completed, the chassis was powder-coated, then sanded and refinished in a Gloss Black. The underside is finished off with a fully polished 3-inch TIG-welded stainless-steel exhaust with MagnaFlow mufflers. In addition, a 14-bolt rear axle and a high-pinion Dana 44 front axle were installed, along with Fox 2.0 shocks. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes backed by CPP Hydro-Boost. Powering this K5 is a GM crate 6.2-liter 500hp LS engine backed by a Hughes 4L80E transmission and equipped with an advanced adapter to support the Atlas transfer case. The mechanical highlights include a Holley EFI intake manifold, Hedman headers, CVF front drive and a DeWitts aluminum radiator complete with all stainless-steel lines and hoses. The 16-inch air cleaner forces cool air into the engine and features vintage Chevrolet valve covers with hidden coil pack adapter plates. Keeping this K5 filled up is a 24-gallon Boyd aluminum fuel cell with a custom cradle. Open the doors to an immaculate interior with triple Twine Tan throughout, featuring factory front bucket seats and a bench spanning the rear using Snowden foam. Also inside are Classic Instruments gauges, a half-wrapped billet steering wheel, a new steering column, a TIG-welded roll cage and a brand-new Vintage Air system. There is polished trim throughout, and Platinum Tan suede lines the glove box and center console. A RetroSound radio was installed in the dash and plays through four Infinity 6.5 components, with two 10-inch subwoofers inside custom-made speaker panels. The body, chassis and engine are all tied together with an American Autowire harness professionally tailored and installed to fit perfectly. Dynamat is installed under the German square-weave, edge-bound carpet. Custom power steps have been added for easy entry and exit. This K5 had a true nut-and-bolt body-off concours restoration using only the best parts available while pushing the limits of extreme attention to detail.

Having sold for $440,000 at the BJ Scottsdale 2023 auction, this is a bargain and a rare opportunity to get a Hogan Built creation without the wait.
