1973 Volkswagen Type 2 Samba Re-Creation

This 1973 Volkswagen Type 2 Microbus was the subject of a complete nut and bolt restoration completed in 2024 as a Deluxe Samba replica. It is powered by an air-cooled flat-four engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. An AFO fire suppression ball is installed in the engine compartment. This Type 2 is equipped with an alternator and four-wheel drum brakes. 

The exterior features new two-tone Vintage Yellow and Lotus White paint with flower and peace sign graphics. A tan sliding sunroof and luggage racks with ladder have been installed. The passenger side rear doors pivot open for easier access, a feature of Samba models. The windshield glass panels can be opened for ventilation. The front doors feature slider-type windows and pivot-type vent windows. New window bars and safari windows have been installed. Yellow-painted wheels with chrome VW hubcaps are wrapped in barnella BP900 wide-whitewall tires.

The restored interior features tan carpeting and three rows of seats upholstered in two-tone tan. Adjustable curtains are installed on the rear side and back windows. The dash features a 120 mph speedometer, fuel gauge, Volkswagen AM radio, and a shelf for incidental items.
